LO 10.1: Describe social change and social reproduction.

Social change does not just affect one aspect of social life at a time. For example, some people are concerned about climate change because it spurs human migration. Human migration is the movement of people from one region to another with the intent of staying there temporarily or permanently. Moreover, it is unknown whether areas experiencing population growth and the planet more broadly can support a growing population. Human migration patterns are related to climate change.

In many cases, climate change is the only factor contributing to such movement. Climate change, however, can lead to political instability and violence. This instability and violence are often the deciding factor for a family to migrate. Therefore, climate change can be directly or indirectly related to migration and population changes.
