4.3a Ethnocentrism 

Responses to different bathroom-use norms can vary. Ethnocentrism is using one’s culture to measure the acceptability of other cultures’ social practices. Ethnocentric people may refuse to conform to unfamiliar norms because they believe their cultural norms are best in any situation. Therefore, an ethnocentric person may refuse to travel to a part of the world where using the bathroom differs from the United States.
